The following values are standard stops in photography. Each stop is a value that measures the amount of light allowed to reach your camera's sensor. These amounts double going in one direction and halve going in the other. The ratio of the amount of light let in to your camera between all whole photographic settings is 2 to 1.
***Notice that on your digital camera you may have other numerical options for Aperture and Shutter, these are considered in between stops and are not whole stops. Thus they do not allow inverse equivalent amounts of light to reach your sensor and make smaller adjustments to the amount of light allowed in to your camera. Please use these values when adjusting your camera to obtain a correct exposure.
